SERVICES - MATERIAL MANAGEMENT EXPANDED

Materials Planning & Logistics
The electronics component market is very dynamic and buyers must stay current on changes within the industry. CSI’s procurement department is highly skilled in managing materials requirements.

CSI procurement is structured using a commodity expert strategy. Our full staff of buyers have years of experience, incorporating bonding strategies and special pricing agreements. This enables us to be proactive in addressing your material requirements.

CSI has excellent relationships with its suppliers and has specific programs established for managing inventory:

  • In house stores for immediate, on-site access to components not in our inventory.
  • Bonded inventory programs for managing components required for customer blanket orders
or specific components with long lead times.
  • File sharing programs for managing high-usage passive components.

Prices are negotiated based on several factors, allowing CSI to be competitive and offer all customers the best possible pricing. Materials requirements are generated by our sophisticated enterprise software (www.Made2Manage.com) system based on customer order requirements. Components are scheduled precisely to meet the on-time schedule.

The receiving department responsibly handles the material once it arrives. Initially, they verify the parts received against the packing slip, and then check against the purchase order. Components requiring “second stage” inspection are visually checked against their respective drawings by the quality department. Once parts are accepted, they are received into our system and stocked in their proper location.

Supply Chain Management & Global Procurement
Global procurement strategies are in place to acquire both components and assemblies from Low Cost Regions (LCR) around the world. We have long-standing relationships with our overseas vendors. In fact, we began purchasing materials from LCRs in 1995, before most of our competitors.

CSI’s SCM expertise includes:

  • Procurement via commodity experts. A seasoned staff of buyers applies bonding strategies and
secures special pricing agreements on behalf of all customers.
  • Global procurement strategies to acquire components and assemblies from low cost regions
around the world. CSI’s experience in these regions since 1995 results in competitive advantage
    for customers.
  • Dedicated purchasing for prototype component purchases.
  • Supplier Certification Process
  • Component Lifecycle Evaluation Service

In-house Component Stores
CSI maintains in-house component stores to keep parts available on a just-in-time basis.
