BOM Creation
Defining the bill of material for an assembly is built around you. We have a database of over 20,000 components that can be used for new bills of material, and we add to the database as new parts are required. We take into account component life cycle and packaging for manufacturing when specifying components.

You get access to our parts database for choosing components for your design. By using parts that already exist in our system, you get a pricing and availability advantage.

Looking for certain component manufacturers? Both the approved manufacturer name and part number are specified in our system. Once a bill of material is released in our system it can be revised. Any changes take a simple Engineering Change Order (ECO) for internal tracking.

Dedicated Procurement
CSI has both resources and knowledge in procuring material from manufacturers, distributors, brokers and overseas sources. With our dedicated purchasing agents responsible for component purchases, and our responsive component vendors, you get a team of professionals who understand your needs when it comes to samples and expedited delivery.

Rapid Prototype Service
Time is of the essence when it comes to prototypes. The dedicated CSI prototype department takes responsibility for the entire process, from bill of material generation to parts procurement to completion of the build. PCB layout services are also available.

Your concept is brought quickly and seamlessly from prototype through a successful first production run by a dedicated technical team. State-of-the-art equipment and best manufacturing practices, combined with CSI’s special complex board build capabilities and systematic approach, result in rapid and reliable development, reduced excess and material costs, and guaranteed quality.

Systematic New Product Introduction Processes
The key to enhancing your speed to market is attention to a successful ramp-up, leading up to full production. Again applying a systematic approach, CSI checklists all aspects of a new assembly with you to ensure a thorough approach and verify each category requirement. You also have access to the CSI parts database for choosing components for their design. Utilizing parts already in the CSI system can result in cost-savings and immediate availability.

RoHS/Lead-Free Assembly Development
CSI can implement its Green Roadmap to assist customers in developing lead-free, RoHS compliant assemblies. CSI routinely assembles lead-free printed circuit boards for both prototype and production volume requirements.

Design for Manufacture (DFM)/Design for Test (DFT)
Completed prototypes are formally reviewed for DFM and DFT in anticipation of a volume production assembly. Our engineering team handles this review. The goal is to ensure the finalized production design is manufacturable in the most efficient and cost-effective manner.

Test Development
We work closely with you to define the best test plan for production assemblies based on assembly type, volume and other factors. Flying probe, in-circuit and functional test programs are generated by our in-house engineers to obtain the most thorough test coverage possible. We also perform both manual and automated functional test development.
